This item is a one of a kind offering through a new supporter Luther Jensen and Adventure Alaska Southeast in Thorne Bay, Alaska. The trips are scheduled for a 6 day period sometime in the last three weeks of June of 2026. Trips generally run Saturday through Friday. While this business is a hard core fishing destination supplying a 4 wheel drive vehicle per group, an individual cabin for each group, all necessary fishing gear along with crabbing and shrimping tackle, and in this donation an upgraded 20 foot + aluminum boat for each group with both a main and kicker motor, this is by no means a “ruffing it” trip. Each cabin has a full kitchen, a covered outdoor BBQ sits next to a large hot tub available for guests. On site laundry and tackle store are open for guests 24 hours a day. For this trip you will be hosted by Justin and Rebecca who both previously held US Coast Guard “OUPV 6 pack” licenses. The Spring’s have been basing hunting and fishing trips on Prince of Wales with Adventure Alaska Southeast for over 15 years. While this is a DIY style trip, Justin and Rebecca will be on hand to assist in all fish filleting, cooking, and boat captaining. Generally, meals consist of the day's seafood catch but a grocery store and liquor store are a quick 5 minute walk from the cabins. Fishing will mainly consist of pursuing king salmon, a few early coho, halibut, ling cod, and depending on quotas, rockfish. Crab traps will be set daily in the bay resulting in fresh Dungeness crab regardless of weather. Spot Prawn traps will be set when weather allows. The waters fished are “inside” waters meaning ocean swells and weather are far less a factor in being able to fish each day. If the weather results in conditions the purchasers are not comfortable going out in, ample creeks are available to fish and miles of roads to explore this Southeast Alaska Gem. Not included: Transportation from Ketchikan to Thorne Bay, Boat Fuel, Groceries, Licenses, some tackle (Springs will provide most of this).
